Visual Arts at Barker is a large scale, energetic enterprise. We aim to engender an enjoyment in creating artworks and an understanding that the student’s world is a source of stimulating ideas.

 

We engage our students in lifelong learning as critical consumers of life in the 21^st century: they debate and critically question fine art in the mainstream, and art in the public/popular domains of graphic design, packaging, film and advertising.

 

Visual Arts students at Barker are offered a wide range of media with specialist teachers in wet photography, painting, film and video, sculpture, digital media, graphic design, printmaking, drawing, animation, designed objects, and textiles.
