Welcome to Computing Studies

Computing is a vibrant and ever changing field of endeavour. At Barker we provide students with broad based practical courses that enable them to explore areas of interest, working both collaboratively and individually. We have state of the art facilities and students are given hands on experience using industry standard computing applications.

The overarching goals of the Computing department are that our students will:

develop advanced skills across a range of high end applications and understand why a broad range of applications are needed.
become problem solvers and independent learners
understand the interaction between hardware, software and users of computer systems
understand and appreciate the use of the computer as a tool
