A student should choose his/her subjects at school on the basis of interest and ability.

However, in Years 10 and 11, students should be aware of the impact subject choice at school has on their selection of a tertiary course after Year 12.

Barker provides all Year 10 students with a Year 10 UAC Guide when subject selection material is sent home in August. The Guide gives details about specific undergraduate university degrees in NSW and ACT. It indicates what, if any, knowledge is recommended, assumed or is a prerequisite for particular courses.
