I am proud to lead a school that has maintained a passion for teaching and learning since its foundation in 1890.

Our traditions are many, and when they are added to the opportunities that our students have, create a school that respects the individual girl or boy, while engaging, encouraging and challenging him or her to be the best that they can be!

There is no ‘typical’ Barker student, but all boys, young men and young women at Barker are encouraged to develop values that enrich the intellect, nurture the spirit, develop social responsibility and create healthy life styles.

The Barker staff is a wonderfully diverse group of professionals who bring their own strengths and commitment to their area of expertise. Many of them are life long learners, undertaking additional study including the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Teaching for Understanding.

The Barker community celebrates diversity and opportunities for everyone to be involved. From the Barker College Mothers’ Association, through other parent support groups, and through the Old Barker Association, Barker community members can come together to develop and continue their Barker friendships.
